Mauro Terán (Mexico City, 1964). He has a degree in painting from "La Esmeralda". He has made nine solo exhibitions and more than 30 collective ones. He was selected in the XI National Meeting of Young Art of Aguascalientes, exhibiting his work at the Carrillo Gil Museum in 1991. He was also selected in the IV Catalog of Illustrators of the Children's and Youth Story in 1994. He participated in "Breath Masks" in the José Luis Cuevas Museum (2012) and in “Cajas Mágicas” at the Industrial’s Club (2013) in Mexico City. His work has gone from expressionist figuration to naturalistic figuration, but it has been consistent in his themes that deal with "Mexican pop", the history of Mexico and the world. Regarding the exhibition "Comic, so far and so close" held at the José María Velasco Gallery in 2002, art critic Blanca González Rosas wrote the following in the magazine Proceso 1316: “in the context of strident colors, each painting tells a story in which mythical images of the history and present of our country intermingle”. In 2017 the book of his work “Altered Art” was published.
